Sigils

Sigils is a series of welded iron sculptures finished with gold leaf, based on sigil drawings—graphic seals traditionally associated with spiritual entities across various esoteric and Pagan traditions. Drawing from both historical grimoires and fictional constructions, the works materialize the "signatures" of real or imagined entities, shifting these symbols from the realm of ritual into the exhibition space.

Composed of lines, curves, and geometric forms, the sculptures preserve the graphic language of sigils while transforming their two-dimensional designs into three-dimensional objects. Their gold-leaf finish references Byzantine iconography, appropriating its visual language of sacredness to propose a critical inversion of the values historically attributed to colonial religions and dissident spiritualities.
